Preposition (kata depan)

Pada artikel ini admin mau jelasin tentang perposition atau bahasa indonesianya kata depan. Btw, pembahasan preposisi ini ada dua ya, pertama preposition of place. Ke dua preposition of time.

Prepositions of place (kata depan yang menunjukan tempat)

In	Di dalam	He is in the living room. Dia berada di ruang tamu.
On	Di atas, pada	The shoes are on the shoe rack. Sepatu ada pada rak sepatu.
Behind	Di belakang	The cat is behind the door. Kucing itu ada di belakang pintu.
Beside	Di samping	My house is beside mall. Rumahku di samping mall.
By	Dekat	He sits by the windows. Dia duduk dekat jendela.
Into	Ke dalam	I put my toys into a box. Aku masukan mainanku ke dalam sebuah kotak.
Up	Ke atas	The hikers walk up the hill. Para hiker berjalan ke atas bukit
Under	Di bawah	Cat sleeps under chair. Kucing tidur di bawah kursi.
Underneath	Di bawah	The letter fell underneath the table. Surat jatuh di bawah meja.
Above	Di atas	Kites fly over my house. Layang-layang terbang di atas rumahku.
Over	Di atas	A jet plane flies over the city. Pesawat jet terbang di atas kota.
Inside	Di bagian dalam	The ball is inside the box. Bola itu berada di dalam kotak.
Outside	Di luar	Children like to play outside. Anak-anak suka bermain di luar.
Between	Di antara	The station is between hotel and mall. Stasiun berada di antara hotel dan mall.
Among	Di antara (banyak benda/orang)	She is the most beautiful among girls in my school. Dia adalah yang paling cantik diantara perempuan di sekolahku.
Next to	Di samping	He sits next to me. Dia duduk di sampingku.
Around	Di sekitar	Every evening many youths go jogging around Kebun Raya Bogor. Setiap malam para permuda lari jogging di sekitar Kebun Raya Bogor.
Along	Sepanjang	I walk along Cisadon Trail until I arrive at Cisadon lake. Aku berjalan di Trail Cisadon sampai aku tiba di danau Cisadon.
To	Ke, kepada	She goes to office by bus. Dia pergi ke kantor naik bis.
Toward	Ke arah	He walked toward manager room. Dia berjalan ke arah ruang manager.
Near	Dekat	My house is near Monas. Rumahku dekat monas.
From	Dekat	Where are you from? Dari mana kamu?

Pemakaian kata in, on, at

Pemakaian preposition of place in, on dan at cukup membingungkan, tapi ada beberapa polang kita bisa pelajari.

Preposisi At

At diletakkan pada sebuah event, contoh : at the party, at concert.
At diletakkan pada kata benda berikut:

Preposisi In

In di pakai di depan nama negara, contoh: In Indonesia, In The U.S.
In diletakkan pada kata benda berikut:

Preposisi On

On dipakai untuk menyatakan lantai dalam gedung, contoh: on the first floor, on ground floor.
On diletakkan pada kata benda berikut:

Preposition of time (Kata depan yang menunjukan waktu)

Preposisi at

Digunakan di depan kata penunjuk jam, contoh at five o’clock.
Digunakan untuk merujuk usia at the age of five.
At diletakkan pada kata benda berikut:

At the weekend	At night	At the moment
At the end of ….	At the beginning of …	At midnight

At lunchtime	At lebaran day

Preposisi On

Ditempatkan di depan nama hari, contoh: on Sunday, on Monday
Digunakan untuk menyatakan tanggal, contoh: on 4 July 2026

Preposisi In

Digunakan di depan tahun, contoh: in 1945, in 1990
Diletakan di depan nama bulan, contoh: in January, in December
Digunakan di depan kata morning, afternoon, evening, contoh: in the morning
Di gunakan untuk menjelaskan suatu periode, contoh: in few minutes, in five hours, in two weeks’ time.

Preposition of time yang lain

For: selama, contoh: I’ve live for ten years.
During: selama, pada waktu, contoh: Students can’t open textbook during exam.
Since: sejak, contoh: I have played mobile legend since 2021.
Until/till: sampai, contoh: She will stay here until Monday.

By: selambat-lambatnya, contoh: Students must submit the homework by tomorrow.
