Question Tag

Question tag adalah peryataan (kalimat positive) yang diakhiri pertanyaan. Question tag lebih sering digunakan saat berkomunikasi lisan dari ada tulisan.

Contoh:

She is beautiful, isn’t she?

(Dia  cantik,, bukan?)

Berikut  adalah cara membentuk question tag:

  1. Jika kalimatnya positif, maka tag-nya negatif.
  2. Jika kalimatnya negatif maka tag-nya positif.
  3. Kata kerja bantu yang dipakai pada question tag harus disesuaikan dengan tenses yang digunakan. Maka dari itu, admin sarankan kalian untuk memahami penggunaan tenses.

Supaya mempermudah memahami pembaca, admin tuliskan contoh question tag beberapa tenses yang sering digunakan.

Simple present tense

He is deligent, isn’t he?

Andy likes manggo, doesn’t he?

He is not deligent, is he?

Andy doesn’t like manggo, does he?

Present continuous tense

It is raining outside, isn’t it?

It isn’t raining outside, is it?

Present perfect tense

She has submit her homework, hasn’t she?

He hasn’t done his homework, has he?

Simple past tense

She was kind, wasn’t she?

She helped you yesterday, didn’t she?

He was not friendly, was he?

He did not care about you, did he?

Past countinuous tense

She was typing a report at 7 o’clock last night, wasn’t she?

She wasn’t going outside at 7 o’clock last night, was she?

Past perfect tense

She had done her report before the due, hadn’t she?

She had not done the report when the manager arrived, had she?

Simple future

We well go to the beach, won’t we?

We will not go to hospital, will we?

Tambahan:

  1. Kata kerja bantu modal sepeti can, may, must dan sebagainya, bisa digunakan sebagai tag.

Contoh:

He can swim, can’t he?

(Dia bisa berenang kan?)

 

  1. Kata bermakna negatif seperti never, rarely, nothing, nobody dan little memakan tag positif

Contoh:

You never come late, do you?

(kamu tidak pernah datang telat kan?)

 

  1. Bentuk tag dari let’s adalah shall we

Contoh:

Let’s go, shall we?

(Kita pergi kan?)

 

  1. Apabila kalimat menggunakan tobe am maka tag-nya aren’t

Contoh:

I am all right, aren’t I?

(Aku baik-baik saja kan?)

 

  1. Kalimat perintah menggunakan dan larangan tag will you.

Contoh:

Open the door, will you?

Don’t do it, will you?
