SIMPLE PAST TENSE
Simple past tense merupakan keterangan waktu yang digunakan untuk menunjukan aktivitas di masa lampau di waktu tertentu. Simple past dibentuk dengan menggunakan subject + Verb2. Verb 2 dibentuk dengan menambahkan –ed di belakang kata kerja. Namun ada sebagian kata kerja yang tidak bisa ditambahkan –ed yang disebut dengan irregular verb. Contoh kalimat:
- I went to office yesterday. (Saya berangkat ke kantor kemarin.)
- Our company produced software.(Perusahaan Kami dulu memproduksi software.)

Rumus: Subject + Verb2

- Kalimat Negatif
Kalimat negatif dibuat dengan menambahkan did not (sering disingkat didn’t) sebelum verb.
Rumus: Subjek + did not (didn’t) + Veb 1

We didn’t play very well
You didn’t know that
They didn’t enjoy the show
He didn’t smoke
She didn’t work at the office
It didn’t make any sense
- Kalimat Tanya
Kalimat tanya dibentuk dengan menambahkan did awal kalimat dan tambahkan tanda tanya di akhir kalimat.
Rumus: Did + Subjek + Verb 1
Contoh:
Did you go to the office on Saturday? (Apakah kamu pergi kantor hari Sabtu?)
Did she like it? (Apakah dia suka?)
Did you enjoy the dinner? (Apakah kamu menikmati acara makan malamnya?)
